St. Andrew UMYF
We have a very successful United Methodist Youth Fellowship (Grades 6 - 12) program. We offer many ways for our youth to minister in the community.
Our youth group meets every Sunday evening from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A dinner meal is provided by a UMYF member's parents on an alternating schedule.
Our youth group has an active Youth Leadership Team (YLT) who meet once per week before Saint Andy's Youth Choir Practice to develop activities for upcoming weeks.
We have a junior high (Grades 6-8) group and a senior high (Grades 9-12) group! Kathy Knutson and Daryl and Wendy Meese are the leaders of this group. Carrie Brandriff is undertaking an internship with this group for her ministry studies. We anticipate many missions that we will be able to do together, but there will also be separate programs, too!
The high school group have undertaken several mission trips in past years:
- 2002 -- Martin, South Dakota
- 2003 -- Dunbar, West Virginia (Charleston)
- 2004 -- Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota
- 2005 -- Memphis, Tennessee

We undertake a number of fundraisers throughout the year in order to assist in paying for these trips. We usually offer two - three car washes each year. We also host a Trivia Night in April to help raise funds. Our most succesful fundraiser is our UMYF Mission Trip Shares. We offer one share for a $25 donation. With the purchase of this share the purchaser is provided two seats at our annual shareholder's dinner and also a copy of a DVD presentation that is prepared upon completion of our trip.
